5TH ALLEY takes its name from a run at Arapahoe Basin, A-Basin, in Colorado. The Daytripper is a 25L day bag with snowboarding in its DNA but a street life: part snowboard pack, part festival backpack. A purple ripstop body, black Cordura sides, black webbing and buckles, and tan laser-cut leather patches carrying the 5TH ALLEY mark keep the outside clean and rugged.

The surprise is inside. The printed purple lining was inspired by the insides of Grassroots hats, and it hides a stash pocket for the things you want kept out of sight.

For an Advanced Textiles class, the project covered the whole bag: the design, the sewing pattern, the 5TH ALLEY logo and the choice of materials. It was documented in a 12-page tech pack: dimensions, rear view, six Pantone colors, a numbered materials map, hardware, pocket layout, laser-cut patch files and logo placement. The bag stands about 19 in tall, 11 in wide and 5 in deep.
